When traveling to Korea, it is a really good idea to learn a few basic Korean phrases to get you by. While most Koreans do not speak English well or hardly at all, they are more than helpful in helping you communicate or learn their language. In fact, as a visitor, you are not expected to speak Korean, but when you do, they are not only surprised but feel very grateful. In fact, don’t be surprised if they compliment you on your Korean skills no matter how bad they might be.
